OUR MISSION
The Alliance for Quality Education (AFQE), established in 1985, is the only local, independent, non-profit organization dedicated solely to the goal of improving public education in Greenville County. We are the independent voice to support, strengthen, and improve public education for every child, every teacher, and every school in Greenville County.
Over the years, the The Alliance for Quality Education (AFQE) has crafted initiatives, celebrated progress, and vigorously sought to collaborate to address challenges
The Alliance for Quality Education (AFQE) is one of one hundred grassroots initiatives across the nation working to improve public education. We are members of the Public Education Network (PEN). Listed below are principles we embrace.
- Public education is fundamental to a democratic, civil and prosperous society.
- Public schools are critical institutions for breaking the cycle of poverty and redressing social inequities.
- Education reform must be systemic to be effective.
- Public engagement, community support and adequate resources are essential to the success of public education.
While challenges facing public education grow more complex, we are steadfast in our belief that we can make a difference. In 2008 - 2009 we will focus our efforts on quality teaching, parent involvement, community engagement, and public policy.
It is no clichè that the need for your engagement has never been greater. We thank you for your help in the past and we count on you for help in the future.
Please join us in making a difference in the quality of public education for all of our children. We are funded by donors including local businesses, foundations, and individuals.
